Blake Shelton’s new reality competition series, The Road, is set to premiere on October 19 on CBS. The show will feature 12 emerging country artists touring and opening for Keith Urban across the U.S., with a newly shared trailer revealing that the musicians will be competing for a grand prize of $250,000 and an exclusive record deal. The series features country stars Shelton, Urban, and Gretchen Wilson, and highlights the challenges of touring and winning over live audiences as contestants strive to advance city by city. The show was created by Shelton alongside Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan, Lee Metzger, and David Glasser, and in addition to the competition aspect, the series will also include Urban performing songs from his latest album, High. The tour started in March at Tannahill’s Tavern & Music Hall in Fort Worth, Texas, with the finale taking place back in April at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. (Taste of Country)
